How A Gut Reset Can Transform More Than Just Your Health.

It’s the season of health goals and every health coach pitching you something.

It’s great, I love health goals obviously! But I also know that most often they fall flat after a month or less.

That’s not the arena I want to play in.

So, I encourage doing deep reflection on why you’re doing something, and what transformation you really want to gain out of your goals. And I encourage you to link these health goals to a BIG goal that is deeply attached to your desired life and life vision.

So, let’s talk a little about what I know a gut reset or elimination diet (of any kind) can do for you.

A gut reset is not only an opportunity for you to heal your body, but also a time to reset your life.

Yes, that’s a lofty statement, but it has been my personal experience as well as many of the clients I have worked with.

When done with intention and deep reflection on why you’re doing a reset, on what needs to shift in your life in order for you to become a person who prioritizes health, happiness, and a deep sense of alignment in your life, a gut reset can shift more than just your bloat.

It does require a solid amount of effort along the way, often with many changes needing to be made, but I challenge you to dig deep into your ideal outcomes and long term goals. To begin to understand that every choice you make in your life impacts whether you’re moving closer to your dreams, or further away.

This is true if your goals are financial, physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, or anything else.

I don’t promote a gut reset or elimination diet as short term or quick fix, because in my opinion we don’t do a gut reset to go back to the way things were before.

Instead, we do a gut reset to reestablish our health baseline and realign with our best self in order to create the life we truly desire. We do a gut reset for deeply personal reasons, that if tapped into can transform how we go through life.

This is true if you’re doing a reset to heal an autoimmune disease, balance hormones or weight, reduce gastric discomfort, increase energy or mental clarity, or any number of reasons.

It’s a personal journey that should be tied to our own intrinsic motivation and wrapped up in our deepest desires. 

This means going deep on many things that are seemingly unrelated to gut health, even if it feels uncomfortable and awkward. 

So if you are planning to do a gut reset or elimination diet of ANY kind, I challenge you to open your heart and mind up as wide as possible to the potential you can get out of this experience. 

Lean in with your whole body, heart, mind, and spirit in order to truly transform not only your health, but also your life. 

Like I said, it’s not always easy and it does require work, but what I know for sure is that YOU can do hard things. 

Humans are designed to adapt and change but often we let our fears get in the way and let that uncertainty set the course.

We let status quo and external pressures and old habits dictate our decisions. Food feels as though it has a control over us, drinks feel as though they have a hold on us, social pressures have a hold, old beliefs and stories have control…

This is going against that. This is taking control of your life and your health. 

It’s stepping away from feeling uncertain and lacking clarity on what it takes to optimize how you feel in your body, and how you experience your life. This is creating a new baseline and a new awareness of what your body and mind and mood feels like when it feels truly alive and well. Giving you more energy and focus to show up in all areas of your life with your unique zesty spark.

You can gain a deeper understanding of what it feels like for your body to thrive, you can learn what foods and behaviours set you up for success in all areas of your life, and what doesn't.

You can discover who you can be when you live and eat with intention. You can create new beliefs and a new relationship with food. You can heal. 

You can learn to love yourself, to be kind and gentle with yourself, and what self compassion is.

Let me say that again, YOU CAN LEARN TO LOVE YOURSELF.

Of course, not everyone needs that transformation, but I know personally it was deeply needed.

Before I created this new framework around doing a gut reset I never truly believed I was worth it, so I always came out of doing one desperate for a glass of wine and a slice of cake. Inevitably reverting back to how I was before the 3 weeks, 30 days, or 3 months. It didn’t matter.

If you stay open to the experience, you can shape your life into something beautiful. Setting yourself up for a future where you feel strong, healthy, energetic, motivated, and peaceful. 

In alignment. 

Doing a gut reset will have a deeper and longer lasting impact if you focus not only on the food, but also on the bigger transformation you desire in your life.

Now, if you’ve read this far you may be wondering, what is eliminated in this gut reset, and is she selling something here or what!?

Well, it’s personal.

I don’t promote ONE gut reset. It’s based on you, where you’re at, what your goals are, and what you’re ready for.

It’s important to know though, that this concept can be applied to ANY reset you’re doing. To ANY goals you’re trying to reach.

It doesn’t matter if it’s The Whole 30, plant based, the Mediterranean diet, AIP, paleo, or simply the removal of sugar or gluten — all of them work, and all of it’s personal.

So use it.
